wHAT IS THE Demographic Transition ?

Demographic Transition Analysis
I believe Ghana is in early stage three of the demographic transition model. Birth rates have fallen due to the availability of contraception, fewer children are forced to work due to the advancements in agricultural technology. Death rates are at lower level due to improved health conditions (from 18.43 deaths per 1000 people in 1960 to 9 in 2012) and there has been an increase in the status and education of women as shown by a decreased TFR (from 6.75 in 1960 to 3.92 in 2012). However the total population is still rising rapidly, from 6.653 million in 1960 to 25.9 million in 2012.
