wHAT IS THE Demographic Transition ?

Demographic Transition Analysis
I believe Côte d’Ivoire is in late stage two of the demographic transition model. Birth rates have remained high at 29.25 births, Death rates are at a sharply lower level (9.67 in 2015) due to improvements in health care and sanitation. Improvement in farming technology and increase in food supply have also lengthened the life spans of Ivorians from 28 years in 1960 to 55 years in 2012. There has been an increase in the status and education of women as shown by a decreased TFR (from 7.35 in 1960 to 4.89 in 2012). Also, the total population is still rising rapidly, from 3.475 million in 1960 to 20.32 million in 2012.
